SALE OF FORWARD ORDER RETAIL CONTRACTS FOR £200,000+
Williams and Partners were instructed by the Administrators of a long-established ladies garment manufacturer to seek a purchaser for the assets of the business including all plant and machinery from their 30,000sqf garment packaging warehouse and their forward order book for the current and flowing seasons.
The order book contained in excess of £2,000,000 of partly paid for forward orders, which were partly landed, in transit or waiting to be loaded. All orders were deadline orientated and subject to cancellation in the event of delayed delivery.
Williams and Partners carried out a full advertising and marketing exercise including the preparation of a detailed Information Memorandum and associated documentation, carried out negotiations with freight forwarding companies to prevent delay in transit and reconciled all current accounting information to provide a true reflection of the current position in relation to the paid and unpaid elements of circa 150 separate contracts for 13 different retail businesses.
Working within a very short time frame, Williams and Partners successfully sold the forward order contracts to two separate buyers with the loss of very few individual contracts as a result of delayed delivery and customer cancelations.
Separately, all plant, machinery and other assets including a 5,000sqf mezzanine floor were sold from the garment packaging warehouse, together with the trading name, samples and patterns.
